Manager vs Leader in the Workplace

The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to describe the differences between a manager and a leader in the work setting. Participants will improve their understanding of the behavioral differences and the processes of how they are developed.

Learning Objectives: 

After participation in this activity, learners will be better able to:

  • Recognize the differences between a manager and a leader
  • Discuss the process by which managers and leaders are developed
  • Understand how the roles interchange in the workplace

Accreditation/Designation of Credit Statements:

The National Kidney Foundation is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Awarded 1.5 contact hours of continuing nursing education. 

Transplant Coordinators

The American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC) has approved this educational offering for up to 1.5 Category I Continuing Education Points for Transplant Certification (CEPTCs).

Dietitian

The National Kidney Foundation is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).  CDR Credentialed Practitioners will receive 1.5 Continuing Professional Education Units (CPEUs) for completion of this activity/material.

The activity is available for credit through February 21, 2020.

Method of Participation:

Learners will review the materials on accreditation information, target audience, learning objectives, and disclosure information; participate in the entire self-study consisting of slides and audio; complete the pre-test; complete the post-test (minimum score of 70% required) and evaluation to successfully earn credit.  The estimated time for completion is 1.5 hours.
