Nutrition in Chronic Kidney Disease Guideline Update: A Four-Part Series
This webinar series addresses the KDOQI Clinical Practice Guideline for Nutrition in CKD: 2020 Update. Part 1 will focus on an introduction/overview of the guideline development process, as well as the differences between the KDOQI Nutrition 2000 and KDOQI Nutrition 2020 recommendation. Part 2 will explore nutritional assessment of patients with CKD with emphasis on nutrition assessment tools, body composition, laboratory measurement, and dietary intake. The topic of protein intake in CKD will be covered in part 3 to include protein/energy needs, protein restriction, and protein type. Finally, Part 4 will address electrolytes of concern in CKD and will cover acid load, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and sodium.
The National Kidney Foundation and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics have collaborated on the development of this multidisciplinary webinar series on the updated Nutrition Chronic Kidney Disease Guideline.
