Obesity: Diet, Bariatric, Exercise, Medications, and Behavior

This activity will increase knowledge base of treatment methods for obesity in CKD patients and increase familiarity with how to address appropriate treatment strategies with patient and obtain desired outcomes.

Learning Objectives: 

After participation in this activity, learners will be better able to:

  • Outline steps that your CKD patient can take to be successful in their weight loss goals
  • Articulate five weight loss therapies used to treat obesity and when each is appropriate to recommend or refer to
  • List the three take home practices from this talk that attendees can utilize on their next working day

The National Kidney Foundation is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).  CDR Credentialed Practitioners will receive 1.5 Continuing Professional Education Units (CPEUs) for completion of this activity/material.

The activity is available for credit through August 16, 2019.

Method of Participation:

Learners will review the materials on accreditation information, target audience, learning objectives, and disclosure information; participate in the entire self-study consisting of slides and audio; complete the pre-test; complete the post-test (minimum score of 70% required) and evaluation to successfully earn credit. The estimated time for completion is 1.5 hours. 

If you participated in the live symposium Obesity:  Diet, Bariatric, Exercise, Medications, and Behavior on Friday, April 21, 2017 and claimed credit, you should not claim credit for this endured activity.
